Colonists while rescueing someone should bring them to the closest medical designated spot
its annoying for a colonist to rescue another colonist that has very few hours to live and they would rather bring them to my medical beds which are far away from where they are instead of the medical sleeping spot i placed right next to them. This just leads to pointless deaths. Any ideas on how to fix this? maybe a mod or something?

Make the carrier stop what he was doing and then make him pick the body again. Works for me.

From what I can gather, the priority goes: Is the pawn's own bed open? If so, bring them there. If not, is there a medical bed open? If so, bring them to the closest one. And beds take precedence over sleeping spots.

If you want to force them to a specific spot, the easiest way is to just zone-restrict the pawn that is rescuing. They'll be forced to take them to the one you designate that way.

The system is automatically set for the best to the worst w/o regards to the situation. This can be a bad and good thing depending on the situation.

Normally for treating hurt pawns it goes from medical bed> beds> sleeping zone. In case of emergencies where time is of the essence, you need to manually restrict access to those higher sites in order for the game to go to the makeshift site you created.

Convince Tynan to allow for direct control of hauling pawns (e.g. if you order a colonist to rescue a pawn they might end up dragging them towards the enemy and into the line of fire but hey, it's a story generator so it's acceptable when the players end up with severe brain damage from facepalming at the AI).

Alternatively, use mods

That surprises me - the AI picks the best bed (a medical bed miles away instead of a medical sleeping spot nearby) which is reasonable if the injuries are not severe.

That means that you need to toggle off all better medical beds if you want to force them to be treated in a medical sleeping spot.

This is so obviously completely wrong that I honestly can't imagine how anyone who has ever had an injury in the game could hold this belief.

Fire up the game, shoot someone, and observe where they go. Hint: It's the blue medical bed.

Even easier to forbid doors to a hospital, or temporarily turn free beds green (colonist use instead of medical).

Yea just turn the hosital beds green, order the rescue, change them back, done.
