I do this sometimes after a firefights, where I hsve pawn with few hours to bleed out. Decent doctor works quick enough to save that guy from bleeding out. After that you can carry him to hospital safely. You may have to fight off infections, there might be scars but hey, pawn lived another day.
Ideally, a doctor should start treatment immediately without meds while you create a new medicine stockpile next to the patient and get someone else to move the medkits before re-enabling treatment with medicine.
Basically, you need to execute two dozens actions because Tynan can't program doctors to pick up 10 medkits if an operation has a 10% success chance.
Mods can help make doctors less braindead

Pawns below age 50 have a 1/99999999 chance of having a heart attack any given day (actual number heh), between 50 and 60 that increases to 1/2500, and between 60 and 100 it increases to 1/300.
Pawns also have a 1/120 chance of having a heart attack on any given day while high on wakeup.
Heart attacks are completely avoidable, but especially tricky to deal with to make them a threat, if they happen in a bad location it's often death. If they happen in your base near meds, or you use a mod to change the AI response to them, they become trivial.
