Offline Mode?
Just wondering before I purchase this if you can play this offline? I'm looking for something I can play on the train. Thanks.

Yes, you can play offline. It just won't sync to the steam cloud. So, your save will only be on that computer, instead of being able to access your saves on any computer.

May run into trouble with a Steam bug and mods in offline mode. Easily circumvented via manual mod installs though.

Buy it off of the official rimworld site. They'll set you up with a DRM free copy of it, and you'll give your money directly to them, rather than a smaller percentage from steam.

The thing is, if you are to simply move the game installation from Steam Library to a different folder, the game would show you a message about being unable to interact with Steam's process... and would keep working just fine. You can also install Workshop mods by subscribing to them, downloading them, then navigate to your Steam's directory, then steamapps\workshop\content\294100, copy every folder from it to your "new" game folder's Mods (these would just have numbers instead of names, it's alright), and then manually activate them from the game.

This ^^^

Not only do you get the DRM free version, you also can follow the process to get a Steam key. You can use both, using one does not negate using the other.
