Salt
Mine it, add to your food longer before spoiling it, add trait 'dislikes salt' to where they wont eat food with salts, you could salt the ground and make stuff not grow

I stopped adding salt to my meals as a condiment when I was in my teens. I have a much greater appreciation for the flavour of foods and if i want a salty flavour, then I'll use ingredients that are naturally salty rather than add it directly.
I don't consider myself as weird and I can at least spell it correctly O.o

Once you've stopped for a while you realize the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you here on the cooking shows about salt bringing out the natural flavor.

Confirmed, including mining salt and pickling/salting some foods.

Sweet, now i know what mod ro remove for my next playthrough.
Finding salt instead of literally anything else from your scanner is like being shot in the face by one off those ♥♥♥♥♥♥ fake guns.
You think something awesome might happen but instead you get a big fat case of disappointment.

This might be more useful, as there are multiple mods which add salt (including Vanilla Cooking Expanded) : https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2258431182

(Rip the time I spent writing a reply to OP, before noticing that was from over 4 years ago.)

Why has necroposting been such an issue lately? This thread was made in 2017
