As far as I am aware, pawns will choose to craft the more base materials first. I noticed that components and medicine have a low priority on Crafting. What you could do, is get more dedicated crafters. Or just wait for the other bills to be filled up. Cutting stone blocks and the like will come before components.

You can always pick an eligible pawn and force them to prioritise crafting at the workbench.

components is smithing not crafting and its a higher priority than the generic things like cut rocks smelt slag and make meds simply because smithing is ahead of crafting and tailoring. however anything done on smithing bench or machining table will be higher priority than components

dam im always building new walls mad of fire proof material. so stone cutting is a constant. guess i'll just keep directing them to work on conponents. many thx

On the bill details tab you can set the min/max crafting lvl allowed. just set stone cutting from 1-10 and components from 10-20. This will sove your issue.

One reason I wish Tynan would add the Crafting Hysteria mod. It allows you to assign crafters to specific jobs. Say I want my level 10+ crafter making components, and my level 5 crafter cutting stone bricks.

you just solved my problem. i can set the max for stone cutting lower than the min for component making. least i think that'll work =D

but components is smithing not crafting so has no relation to stone cutting...

Try the Refactored Work Priorities mod, it lets you go into specifics about which jobs to prioritize, and also adds the ability to rate priorities from 0-9 instead of 0-4.

I think I saw a streamer using that, it's kinda like Dwarf Therapist for Dwarf Fortress right?

You're thinking of Fluffy's Work tab mod.

Instead of "Creating Hysteresis", use "AC Enhanced Crafting", you can assign a specific pawn to bills, you can also rename bills. Plus does everything the other mod does.
