I'd say it's good for people who know nothing about cars as long as they're keen to learn :)

All the infoscreens you get while doing specific things to your car and/or engine explains a lot really well and simple enough for me to get it. I learned a lot about cars and know more about engines then most people with cars do :p
Love the game and it's eye for detail, can't wait for the tycoon part. :)
From there you can simply start playing around and learn as you play.
Before this game, I hardly knew anything about engines, besides what the average person would know (engine makes power, more power is better). Thanks to this game I started understanding more of the ins and outs of engines, but also of different gearboxes, suspension settings and downforce etc. This game has really helped out a lot understanding details about car and engine engineering.
