Cutting holes in body work
Is there an easy way to cut a hole in the body for something like a place for an exhaust pipe to sit so it isn't clipping through a panel? What is the actual vanilla way to place exhausts at the back? On some of the bodies you cannot help but have exhausts clipping through the back with the limits on how low you can place it and using the splitter with the holes isn't always appropriate.

You could just use a vent and then pick the no material option those have, that just cuts a hole.
I couldn't find the no material option so I just made it deeper. Thanks.
A vent with no bottom edge would be cool, maybe some half circles.

There should be a lot of materials to pick from, and one of them is just nothing :) have another look. Glad you found a workaround though.
I only found it now, by accident actually. The tooltip kept saying translucent so I always thought it meant some kind of solid material and so I never bothered to click it. Now I can put effort on how the car looks.

For those still lost like I was, use Vents or Patches under Body Molding and change the material(of the grill if it's a vent). The no-material/subractive/hole material is at the end of all the grille patterns. If you don't see it on the materials list, check "All Fixtures".

I'd like a little circle with a line through it on the corner on that. If I mouse over the material it still says "Glass (Transparent)", so maybe I still don't know what I'm talking about.
