How to make a direct drive automatic
Idk how to make the auto gear box’s have no torque converter I want for it to just be direct gear which down shifts I’ve tried everything and don’t know how or if it’s been changed?

Direct drive, by definition, cannot down shift.

At no point in time has there ever been an option to have a single forward gear in Automation. The least amount of gears has always been 2.

You can easily make a direct drive transmission if you export a car to BeamNG and modify the appropriate jbeam files. No, you cannot make a Koenigsegg Regera inside automation - but you can replicate one (as I did) in BeamNG with the appropriate mods and jbeam edits.

no as in for example 4 speed auto that just works with no torque converter or sliping every one of my new auto cars rev to 5-5500 and stay there till the next gear where it does the same thing my older cars would treat it like its a direct drive from the gear box to the wheels so it actually uses the gears thanks,

OK. I'm going to assume you're attempting to describe a CVT.

A CVT, by definition, has an infinite number of gear ratios. CVTs are available in 1985 and are labelled "Continuous" in the drivetrain tab.

Not CVT, seems to me more as a dual-clutch transmission. Never made one so no idea if available. I more like the older stuff. But maybe with the hint someone can help now.

im describing an automatic gear box that dosnt slip i just want it to be like when you have a manual car in beamng and put it in arcade mode it downshifts and goes into high gear when you cruise ik it used to do it the way im describing it ive had this game for 4 years

OK, well if that's the case that's the weirdest description of a gearbox I've ever heard.

OP:
AutoManual unlocks in 2000, and is a single clutch automated manual like you'd find with BMW's early SMG and Lamborghini's E-Gear. There's no torque converter.

Dual Clutch unlocks in 2008, and is a dual clutch automated manual like you'd find with VW's DSG or Porsche's PDK. There's no torque converter here either.

Sequential unlocks in 1995, and is a single clutch manual transmission that requires the use of a clutch pedal for starting and stopping, but can be shifted up/down without the pedal. No torque converter also, but is reserved mainly for race cars.

Direct drive means the transmission only has one gear. So whatever it is you're looking for is one of the above (AutoManual, Dual Clutch, or Sequential). How you "tried everything" and still can't find what you're looking for is beyond me, but that's what's available and what you have to work with.

More on the other side of the spectrum: at least early Smart cars had it as well. Instead of a clutch pedal they might as well have a centrifugal clutch

Divint get lippy with me mate, i explained it 3 separate times only for you to get more passive aggressive, turns out in the most recent big update they changed the way auto gear boxes work making it so there is no way to not have a non slipping torque converter so :cleandino:

I finally figured out what this thread is all about.

Automatic transmissions have had their shift speed and efficiency figures revised to be more realistic.

Open up your jbeam files and modify:
"gearChangeTime" - are generally 2x what they were before
"shiftEfficiency" - former values 0.5, now 0.35

Nothing has changed with torque converters or the way they slip or don't slip. But I can see how slower (more realistic) shift times might lead you to believe that had something to do with it.

If you want a non-slipping torque converter, just set "torqueConverterLockupMinGear" to 1.

Well, if people talk about another game in this forum, they should at least mention it. This is a tycoon game about a car company, that happens to be able to export cars into BeamNG. It is not a BeamNG car editor that allows you to do some tycoon stuff. So OP shall not blame anyone that their answer was not helpful because the answer was based on Automation content and not BeamNG stuff...
