Keep in mind the current Light Campaign contains fictional countries designed to test the mechanics of the underlying sales model. Eventually the Grand Campaign will have real countries/territories. The process of "unlocking" new markets shouldn't be as simple as throwing money at it, in my opinion. There should be real opportunity costs that real manufacturers face when deciding to sell their vehicles in new markets. These things include, but are not limited to: embargoes, regulations, tariffs, climate, infrastructure and more.
Exists? But with limitations. The workaround would be to adjust your pricing in anticipation of this happening - but I agree it is not obvious and should (hopefully) change at some point.
That's not very intuitive given the current system, which allows multiple trims to be built in a single factory, and each trim can occupy a completely different market segment.
"Events" in the form of ethical scenarios I think would add a new layer of immersion beyond just the recalls we currently have. What you describe can "sort of" be replicated with marketing. Interesting idea, though.
Are you talking about magazine comparison tests with boilerplate copy and/or track races? That'd be cool.
See above, RE: ethical scenarios.
Lower costs? (no shipping) National pride? (we buy what we build) Even if it wasn't done intentionally, it does make sense to some degree.
Already exists. Each country has its own specific preferences and tastes that are outlined when you're choosing a country to base your company in, and when you're choosing a country to build your factory in.
Would only make more sense to do this once the game is closer to completion. Otherwise it'll have to be re-written every time a change/update is made which is counter-productive. Some new playthrough video tutorials may come sooner, though.
New bodies are added continuously.

Not to mention to ability to make your own tracks.
Regional pricing could potentially come in the Grand Campaign since it's a practice that's done in real life to account for things like tariffs, regulations, and local market demand.
I'd imagine this is something that's constantly being worked on.
Happy to share for anyone willing to read them!
For example: you, as a player have a sport car company having much familiarity with sporty, powerful engines. An other company which makes millions of cheap, economic cars wants to make a sporty version one of their model so they ask you to design an engine variant for it. You get the already existing engine and have to make it as good as the other company wants it to get the money, e.g. reach the min. power level, min. efficiency, min. reliability, etc. they want.
It would be a good source for some plus money for small manufacturers who doesn't want to make large factories. Also in my opinion it would be a nice change to try to make the best of a 3/4 cylinder eco engine between designing your 6-12 cylinder powerhouses without losing prestige.
Possibly coming soon. Skip to 33:45 for Killrob's response to a similar inquiry.
