Does nobody mess with interior fixtures?
Do ppl just build the outside body and start selling that way? I was under the impression we had to create the whole car, but i'm starting to think just create the outside and don't worry about flooring, chairs, steering wheel stuff, the placement on that stuff is not smooth.

You don't have to care about the fixtures on outside either and it will in most cases sell just as fine.

There are a few exceptions to it tho:

1) Wings, Lips, Spoilers, Diffusors have an aerodynamic effect... which the sports categories like if their angles are adjusted well.

2) Not particularly related to fixtures, but shaping the car's body will also matter, like making the trunk longer for more loading space, or if you make the front longer or the car wider.

At least in campaign I long since stopped making "beautiful" cars, and just sell the naked models without fixtures (except above mentioned aerodynamic fixtures etc which have an influence on desireability)... because I would loose my mind if I would have to redo that stuff every time.

So I only put fixtures on my sandbox cars anymore and try to make those beautiful.
And there I sometimes do some "basic" interior as well, like at least get seats in there and a dashboard+steering wheel so you get a "glimpse" of it because you notice those missing the most if you take a photo from outside with transparent windows. But I wouldn't get carried away with the interior, because I would never take a photo from the inside since it would look nasty no matter the effort put into it.

Only play sandbox so far and not beta, but I in the past found some reasonable compromise between looks and effort. However, it requires mods at least for release, as the devs themselves didn't care much about it and you find vanilla assets only from about 1970 onwards. So if you want to build interiors for older cars, there is nothing the game offers. No idea though if beta has fixed that gap.

In general I however consider blackening out the windows completely. It does not look too bad and quite often reflections on the windows are so high that on the cars that actually have interiors they are not visible on the screenshot anyways.

Maybe that's why the default tint is really dark lol, so you can't see inside.
