How does everyone do their trims in campaign mode?
Just curious, do you keep it simple (saloon, estate, coupe; then different trims for engines) or do you have it really complex, like trims for manual transmission and automatic, trims for premium seats and then another for sports seats...

I imagine if you make it more realistic you could have endless trim options, wonder what the engineering and production slowdown would be for 20 trims within a model (example BMW 3/4 series, Saloon, Coupe, Convertible, Estate), if you do 3 different engine versions, thats 12 trims alone, then if you make a few of those available with manual or automatic, or premium or sports seats, you could get to 20-25 trims.
At that point would it be better to make each "trim" its own model, would be a pain for those of us that like to fully design each model and trim.

The last time I played campaign, having anymore than 4 variants or trims on an engine or model became rapidly detrimental to the profit margin.
It was mentioned they were going to relax this, but we'll see I guess.

yeah I used to have about 6 max, 2 trim variants (saloon and convertible) and then 3 engines per each and between the extra engineering time and factory efficiency it was brutal.

but in real life there are usually twice as many trims and all done by the same factories...

I usually have a large wagon version, a sedan, and on occasion a sportier version/convertible version. Sedan and wagon have basically the same stuff. Maybe different engines, if its worth it in the market. Sportier version has a lot more changes.

Hard to set stuff up with each different thing becoming a different trim level. Interior, engines, trans, suspension settings, etc. It becomes too much to handle with the game set up, and I don't think it was designed for all of these different things to be set up as 20 different trims.

I usually tie body style to engine type. Same engine family of course too, wagon with plenty of space and hauling ability for the families, efficient low power sedans for the commuter, high energy rev happy coupe for the enthusiast, truck or van variants if you wanna get crazy.
