Best sounding engine

Hey guys,

I am strugling to make a good sounding engine, what have you guys created? And how did you make it sound good, I am porting my designs to Beam.NG and I would like them to sound good there, any tips?

Any V engine or inline 5 with little or no mufflers. Having mufflers will generally be a good idea if you want to make a sellable car but for BeamNG they'll sound better with straight pipes.

A high-revving I4, a mid-high I6, Boxers and V8/V10. Also, don't quote me on this, but I think having the same muffler on first or second slot produces a slightly different sound.

Also, playing with the cams will change the sound drastically. A car that is cammed out with race settings idles rough and mean. Play with this setting you will see.

Haven't actually ported one to Beam yet (about to) but for real cars my favorite sound is definitely a flat/boxer six, especially one that revs to ~9000 rpm such as the one in the 911 GT3.

The sounds in BeamNG aren't fully finished yet, only the exhaust sound can be heard in BeamNG. With some update In the future it will sound just like it does in Automation.

think, i3 and anything else sounds like a mower or a vacuum cleaner.

V8 with no mufflers, cats and race manifold sounds great. Inline 5 and V10 sound good too even with mufflers.

V10 with no mufflers that revs to 12000 RPM

Flatplane V8 hands down. Rev it high for best results. For the optimal experience, pair with the sound of a burnout.
