How to keep body hidden in exported version?
So I just finished building a gokart for beamng (complete meme build), and I was doing this by hiding the body, chassis, and suspension, then using 3d parts to connect them all, and it looked pretty decent.

How-ever, when I go to export, it unhides the body, chassis, suspension, and everything else I hid, making the kart clip inside of an ugly unpainted carbon fibre disaster. Is there any way to keep the body completely invisible on export?

Long answer: If you know how to edit the jbeam file once it's exported, it would be possible to make yourself a go kart. But editing the files takes time and is not easy, and you can only do it after its already exported. You would essentially just be making your own BeamNG mod by hand, using Automation's export as a base.

Short Answer: you cannot, it is for Automation only.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Since all i'd be editing is deleting the stock bodywork, that shouldn't be too hard. What method would you recommend for editing the jbeam? I've never done anything like this before so sorry if I'm being a bit of a dumbass.

You could just put transparent in the body paint slot.

I already did that actually. The wheel wells on this car, aswell as the chassis, cannot be painted, so they remain visible.

I'll try this but I doubt it'll be able to hide the ENTIRE chassis.

When you export your car go to the folder and search for the .jbeam with the name of your car, inside of the jbeam file (which can be open with notepad++) search for flexbody and look for a line starting with "chassis" when you find it type // in the beginning of the line.

also if you want to hide the body its a bit more annoying, you will need to open the car model in blender and delete the body there

Well that's pretty handy, thanks. Deleting the chassis will DEFINITELY make it look less ♥♥♥♥, but I'll still have to remove the rest of the bodywork, which does sound like a pain in the arse, but not as bad as I thought it might be

I tried to find the word flexbody but it isn't present in the code what do I do?

I should probably mark this thread as solved since I got it working, but make sure you're in the .jbeam file for the entire car. Then search the word "Flex" (Make sure your notepad search is working, sometimes it breaks). I don't remember if its Flexbody or Flexbodies, but searching Flex should find it. Then Delete the chassis line. DON'T delete the engine line (This will crash BeamNG if you spawn it in), and deleting the bodywork line DOES work but it also deletes fixtures too I think.

Hey, not sure if your still looking for an answer, but all you need to do is go into beamng, spawn your car, and delete the chassis mesh from the customization menu, hope this helps!
