I took that engine you made there, copied every bit of it, right down to the quality sliders and decimal places on the bore and stroke, and in the new game, you get an engine that makes 13hp because it has a -%30 knock penalty.
I've been watching all your little dev updates and I know you reworked a TON of stuff with the engines, and it seems like you nerfed your engine there, and that does seem about right, I do feel like they're a tiny bit nerfed. No biggie, but I'm struggling to get a small engine to run on 80RON fuel without a race cam and 6.0 compresson. I even expermented with a 217cc motor and even that (with pushrods) has to have 6.0 compression, 52 cam profile and pretty much fully retarded timing to run...and make 7hp...lol. Maybe that's just the way it is and I shouldn't expect to get a 1L 3cyl on push rods to run on 80RON anymore...
If you really want to make an engine that runs on that fuel then currently indeed that is very difficult, if not impossible, to do. That is down to balancing and I think we'll put the RON rating up to 85 for the Lite Campaign. So it's not you being stupid, well, apart from using RON 80 in the first place ;D
Cheers!
I like a challenge, and I've always made my Archana cheapo cars run on 80. I'm like the oposite of all the big horsepower players. I wan't to build cheap garbage and sell a ton of it. It just used to be easier. I gave up on the pushrod i3 and went with the direct acting OHC and got something workable that the market liked, and it runs on 80.
Also, I'm just practicing for the new campaign, having some fun with the car designs. Keep up the hard work, and I'm looking forward to the completed game.
