Valve float problem with possible fix
I just saw a video on Valve Float. It turns out, valve float is caused by springs not expanding as the valve opens up. Could valve spring options be added to the game?

That would be cool!

Where in the UI would you put it? Currently, the quality slider does exactly what you describe. Positive quality "simulates" stiffer valve springs among other things.

Slim Jim, the Quality Slider also makes your car more expensive.

it'd be cool to have spring options:
Cylindrical- Cylindrical springs
Beehive- beehive springs are springs shaped with a slight taper on one end. This shape is more rigid and can withstand higher RPM
Dual Spring- One spring is fitted inside of another to ensure that valve float is minimized. The second spring also dampens the force from the camshaft, so that the spring has a longer life.

Maybe even:
Pneumatic- Springs are instead replaced by pressurized air. This setup allows for practically any RPM, but is extremely costly and only useful fro low-volume cars.

not only that but you need to have +10 quality and VVT to get to the really high rev range, but even then you still have power loss.

The problem with that is you need unrealistic levels to get the kind of revs one is looking for

You would put it in the top end tab alongside VVT. It is actually a great idea.

No. Remember this is a Tycoon game. The game isn't about engineering the engine, you just come up with the generic design. The specific parts and implementations are figured out by your team of engineers. So instead of choosing stiffer springs or different types, the game just let's you decide how sporty or tame the valve system is.

Valve spring design is important through
It's like letting the quality slider determine whether the pistons are forged or not.

Besides, valvesprings can have some sort of progression, e.g. beehive unlocked in 2005 and pneumatic in 1985 idk

There're the freevalve now as well
