Lightweight semi spaceframe

could we get a lighter version of the semi space frame something more like what the Viper and Corvette use for those of us trying to make something similar to them ? the glued monocoque is a bit heavy and expensive to make, the regular semi space frame is a bit heavy and the aluminum monocoque is much too heavy, very annoying to try and make a car thats supposed to compete with them and no matter what you do it ends up weighing 200+lbs more and the only way to get it lighter is to strip it or go all CF. Also could we get plastic body panels? just thinking about things that could be done to keep weight, engineering time, production costs down while being able to produce in larger numbers without ending up with cars that weight a few hundred pounds more than they really should. maybe just a slider on the chassis that as you go up in quality you use higher grade materials and so weight comes down.

You can lighten the chassis with the quality slider. That's already a thing.

As for plastic panels, I think fiberglass comes close, but plastic can work too, as long as you absolutely don't care about what happens in a crash.

oh i thought the chassis got heavier due to more reenforcement but i meant without spamming quality sliders. edit: yeah its really kinda rediculous to have to spam the quality all the way to 15 to get the weight down on the semi space frame so that a corvette type car weighs 3500-3600lbs thats why i was inquiring about i lighter chassis version.
