If you go to the Engine Family screen, there should be a pop-up menu on the lower right that show what kind of drivetrains will fit with the engine size.
thank you! I don’t know what happened but I was messing with gear settings suddenly he was there the blessed FWD
I think they should add another variant with the engine behind the front axle like the Traction Avant, and Cord 810 to name a few. This would allow alot bigger engines and use in older large sedans where having a large V8 hanging over the front end makes the car handle ridiculous.
Maybe Killrob could answer this, but couldn't this be added without too much effort by adapting the way the RR engine layout works on rear engine cars but for the front engine bay? All the 3d assets exist so I imagine there can't be too much involved in adding this..
Edit: It's called a mid-front configuration or something like that, right? I know there's a specific name for it.
I'm not sure if theres an exact technical term for it.. All drivetrain configurations of this type are seemingly always referred to as simply "longitudinal front engine wheel drive" despite the subtle variations between each implementation.. though I suppose Front-Mid-Front wheel drive (FMF) would be the best way to describe it.
I don't have knowledge of the inner workings of automation code, though having years of experience poking around with code and dabbling in modding things I don't fully understand, I can't imagine it being hard too implement... If automation was a little more accessable to modding I'd try and do it myself.. Though I suspect this won't be possible without access to devtools, and I wouldn't really expect any serious modding automation until after full release.
I think if Killrob doesn't notice this post after a few days I guess I'll make a proper suggestion.. It's something i've been thinking about for a while but I haven't got around to posting.. Mainly because I have a tendency to go into autistic detail about things and it's not something I want to half ass..
I suppose me posting in this thread is really just me procrastinating about making a proper suggestion thread and hoping killrob senpai notices me so I don't have to :P
Other companies did indeed use a FMF engine, when building. One way could be the engine belts facing the cabin too, that alone might get us more space. The FMF engines people are thinking of were possible, but had a rather complex assembly to make them work (something like, towards the cabin, down, then under the engine to the wheels). It would be another interesting engineering choice, but I do think they'd need to make another transmission mesh to make it work, as well as find a way to balance it out properly.
right. Volkswagen I had most of the cars made in my country. in the 80s / 90s cars with this configuration 4 longitudinal line Fwd can search there "Passat, Gol" and. I believe that the game is also doing this line because I only got this configuration from the 80's I believe that it is due to the advent of compact engines.
