Editing files to add horsepower?
I have been pushing every single engines to the absolute limits on power, and the game starts to get boring... So i was just wondering if there is a way to edit horsepower in the files as in Beamng?

This thread is kinda old, but the main question was never answered, because for some reason literally everyone here hates a fun bit of unrealism.
You can pretty easily edit your car's power by going into the "camso_engine" Jbeam file of your vehicle in the "mods" folder of BeamNG. Just crank up the RPM and torque numbers and you should be good to go. Keep in mind that upping the power means your wheels will be unable to keep up at some point, but you can also increase tire grip by going into the "wheels_front/rear" Jbeam and finding the "frictionCoef" value.

I think that 990 J.Bentley is a ♥♥♥♥♥ and every car game someone wants to make a crazy supercar that is totally undrivable and has too much horsepower. I agree with Fjelljøde mk2

looks like we've got a Lightning McSalt here.

Hey! I have made a car that is suited to go 590kmh and i have the cooling that is on recommended, but when i load it in beamng the car over heats, even tho i have the correct amount of cooling from automation... Is there a section in the mod files that is for cooling that i can edit?

In the camso_engine.jbeam file, you can alter "radiatorArea", "radiatorEffectiveness", "coolantVolume". Increase them for better cooling capacity. You can also lower the "thermostatTemperature" to have it open earlier which will keep it cooler, longer. If your turbo is overheating, you can raise the "damageThresholdTemperature" in the same file. Good luck.

Hahaha! nice it works! Now i got the car to 620kmh before the speed limiter kicked in! I managed to squeze in a 16l v12 with 3770hp and 4260nm into a little car that weighs 1600kg Because the engine is a bit heavy, the speed limiter limited my top speed to 620, even though the theoretical top speed was 670kmh or something... So how do i increse/deactivate the speed limiter?

So you buy a game at the core of it is running a car company (says in the title) but all you do is make crazy uncontrollable unrealistic stupid hyper cars over and over and over again................You must have a simple life.
You really seem like the kind of person who would start a fight with someone for not wearing a helmet to go on a jog. Grow up and don't be so big of a buzzkill in the future.

And can i add, hyper cars are not stupid and unrealistic... Lotus, rimac, koeniggsegg, etc builds cars with 1700-2000hp+++... mercedes are building a car that are going to perform like an f1 car(idk if it will be a production car) :D Imagine real life companies making cars with more HP than what you can make in automation.. Its not far away tbh

Download Notepad++ and 7zip, open the archive using 7zip and then edit the file using Notepadd++ without extracting and it will ask to update the archive. Using that method you won't run into that error anymore, plus save time not having to extract files.
The most simple way I've personally found is to simply move the Jbeam file onto my desktop, edit it there and then move it back into the zip. No additional programs required.

Look at that, a properly helpful individual. Well done and keep doing it.
I do what I can, because there aren't enough people who do, unfortunately.
by some chance would you also have the knowledge on how i can change the exhaust sound on a automation- beamng car? I am very interested in doing so.

Uh, not first hand, but I know you can. Search "Electric Vehicle creation for Automation" and there is a part where they explain how to modify the sound file, and what each part does. Also the files themselves have lines of text explaining what each part does. GOOD LUCK!
