Engine Swapping/Sharing Per Vehicle/Trim and question about Interior Modifications
In an older version of the game (Pre UR Engine) We were able to take existing engines and swap them into the cars via a drop down menu in the engine name section, it made for different trims of a car having different engines, now I find that different trims all have the same engine, any modifications I do to the engien in a different trim seem to effect the engine in other trims and while I can change the varient name it doesn't seem to matter. So My question is, when will the engine varients and swapping in trims/other cars be possible again? I really miss being able to swap engines back and forth and making a more luxurious/sporty version/trim of a car having a better engine while a more cheap version has a worse engine so on and so forth. There used to be a feature in the KEE engine that when you selected a new trim you could go into the engine varients and click "Add new engine varient" as well, Is this feature going to come back?

Also a side question: In the Interior modification thus far it just has selections like "Luxury, Premium, Standard, Sport, Handmade, and Basic." This is fine however it doesn't really give the perfecty array of stuff, is it possible we can get stuff like "Sport-Luxury" and "Advanced Premium" or just other trim levels. Also I would really like to see a tab in there where we can select addons to the cars, is it going to be possible in the future to see check boxes where I can select things like "Power seats" "Power Windows" "Manual Windows" "Power Mirrors" "Heated/Cooled Seats" "Digital/Analoge/LCD Guages""Central Locking" "Leather/Cloth/Vinyl Seats" so on and so forth? Would love the customisation, would also love the addition of sunroofs, perhaps adding prestige for larger sunroofs and stuff.

Really I guess I'm wondering about the upcoming gameplay features involving interior customization as well as engine swapping and modifications, sorry for the long extended post but I do miss some of the aforementioned features and look forward to the addition of other features for gameplay. I feel like it would really flesh out the game a lot more.

I think you are mistaken about the fact that you can't make one car model with several different engine variants or even different engine families. Just select from the top menu via the little engine selection button any engine from the list of existing engines or choose to create a new one. Every trim in your model can have a different engine in the UE4 version in its current state.

I like to note that there was a bug related to the engine selection though, where the engine would not load in properly until one exited out and got into the model again.

We have often discussed the various levels of a trim in regards to interior and entertainment choice and thought about it for years now. Our conclusion is to not go any deeper than we currently go as that would lead to a lot of micro-management for little to no gameplay benefit. I think what you are mainly after here is the immersion factor of choosing these specific addons, not the actual game mechanics for that. Indeed, it was a pretty terrible game mechanic in the original "Detroit" already :P absolutely meaningless to the game, but "kinda cool!". Automation is damn complex as is, and we don't see the need to add anything that would make it significantly worse for little gain.

The different interior package choices are five-fold already:
Interior Luxury & Materials
Entertainment System & Electronics
Safety Package
Implementation Quality of Interior & Entertainment
Implementation Quality & Focus on Safety

When you read the descriptions of the various packages you will see that we cover most things as is, and if not you can add or subtract a bit of quality in the section to get it to where you want. That doesn't solve the "immersion issue" which I think it boils down to for you, but all gameplay mechanics bases are covered pretty well by these mechanics. That is why we are happy with the current compromise of our system.

I hope that clarifies things.
Cheers
