Yes, the first V10 was an Alfa Romeo F1 engine, but I don't know who made the first production V10 car.
Ram used a V10 in the Heavy Dutry 2500 and 3500 rams from 95-03, and the Viper specific V10 in the Ram SRT from 04-06
Ford debuted a V10 on the Econoline, and in Super Duties in 1997.
European and Japanese manufacturers have been slower to adopt.
It actually has seen wider use in motorsports, as early as Alfa's rig in 1986.
But in terms of ICE development, V10's are actually pretty recent.
My Favourite of the bunch is still VW's Twin Turbo V10 TDI in the Touareg. Let's tow a Jumbo Jet!
