Engine swapping
I have made 2 cars. One normal and the other one a sport version but has the same engine. I am wondering if I can change the engine to the most powerful one to get better performance?

Clone engine variant, then make the changes in the new engine. Or, at the top next to the engine's name there's a button that allows you to select a different engine.

You can swap engines, but it works differently from the Campaign to Sandbox.

In Sandbox, select your sporty trim and Revise it. Then mouse-over the bar where it's model and trim name is. You'll see a little square engine block icon - click that and you can give it any existing engine you've created. Or create a new engine.

In Campaign, you can select a different engine for every Trim when you create a project. If you're already producing the car, you can create a new Facelift and then select your sporty trim. Click the delete icon to drop the current engine project from the slot, then pick whichever one you want.

You can make sporty Variants of any engine, but I don't recommend that. By default the game will split production evenly between the sporty and standard version. That's problematic; sports models won't make up 50% of your sales. Instead of making variants, I branch off my sports models as entirely seperate projects. Styling two seperate cars takes more work, but the results are absolutely worth it.

You have infinitely more control over production and margins, and can give the sports version it's own factory. Because these will always be low-volume sellers, this is usually a more profitable option. You're only likely to sell a few thousand a month anyway. This minimizes your costs, especially on tooling, while allowing you to maximize the production numbers for your volume-selling street versions.
