What type of car are you making? If it's a sporty type of car the market may literally not exist for them yet.

Vans = ezmode. Market is fairly strong from the start, and vans aren't too hard to make.

Literally trying anything: from a little sporty number to a massive people carrier lol.
Did manage to get a tiny profit off of one vehicle so i must obvioulsy be getting better, or i accidentally stumbled along the right choices haha. The scenario tutorials are a massive help. Should have started there to begin with.
