Automation - The Car Company Tycoon Game

How do you play the campaign?
Let me start by saying I love the game and have had it since well before campaign was even available. I originally used this game to learn about engines and make engines. I then started making actual cars in sandbox and figuring out how to make highly rated cars and engines.
I always seemed to do great according to the stats on market in sandbox.
Now I have started the campaign...and I just don't get it. I watched the tutorial and thought OH! duh, that's what (insert campaign feature) is/means. However, after following every step of the tutorial I stil ljust don't get it.
My car showed high rating but when I click start and skip to production..i'm completely lost as to what to do/what is happening. It always shows 0 in stock but the profit goes up? I don't get it. Also what do I ever do seriously? Am I supposed to start making another car right away...or.... I just simply don't get it. The campaign honestly makes me want to uninstall Automation because it makes zero sense to me despite the fact that I have 100+ engines and cars in sandbox that are all very highly rated according to the game. I just can't understand what I'm supposed to do. How do I tell if I'm doing good or bad? What do I do? Please explain the campaign..because right now this isn't even a tycoon game to me it is just a game to make engines, that is it. I love this game and want to understand but I just simply can't figure out what the hell I am supposed to do.

It always shows 0 in stock but the profit goes up? Yes because you are selling through evey unit you made. If you hit revise model on the car you can change its price and production numbers. Up to you if you want to make another model right away but it would make sense to target another market segment that the first model doesn't cover.

The campaign is very bare bones at the moment you merely make cars and sell them against some pre-made cars in the market. Game ends in 2020 and the current aim is to have the highest score by that point. Score i think is based on cars sold and the prestige ratring of the car.

I don't play it at all. I'd rather make a thread with some good people and LARP a car company, that is currently much more fun that watching a progress bar spool forward.

That defintely makes sense. Have to admit, I barely remember making this thread, I was completely totaled haha. Since I have tried the campaign again and I was doing really good.I undertand a lot better after just watching what happens.I do know I was really confused when one of my cars stock went way up and almost completely stopped selling, so I released a new car, and the old car started selling like crazy again after the new car sold a few thousand. Is that normal? Is that something to do with prestige or reputation or whatever? Also, is there any real reason to cancel a car if sometimes the car may start selling again?

Usually cars don't start selling again once they've stopped selling, unless there's a sharp economic upturn and some budget group suddenly can afford it. :) It is impossible to tell what happened in your situation as the game, even in the lite campaign, is rather complex in its interactions.
