(i did this game on PS3)
Walk away for an hour and then have another go. you'll probably find you'll beat him first time.
But i can understand he's a pig, his attacks are relentless.
he's even worse with a certain item equiped paradox sphere
I feel like one of my problems is my Medic pet is under 2k HP so he just gets destroyed and I spend half my time rezzing everyone with Phoenix Down.
Tortoise is a must have for this fight as are medics.
Delta Attack and Relentless Assault when you get the chance. When his HP is at the last 20% you just have to go for an all out offensive but tortoise whenever you see Inferno
Sadly this isn't the last fight, but the next is slightly less tough IMO but has a real HP damage dealing move but you'll be warned before this attack comes
Yeah, Ultima and Chain Break is stuff he does for that fight. It must be possible without a Tortoise. I don't feel like farming for one and then leveling it up. Going to just keep trying other ways.
Green chocobo is a good medic - standard Growth max level is 99 about 6000 hp
Silver Chocobo is a good Sentinel - erratic growth max level is 45 about 9000 hp
Twilight odin is a good Com - Very late bloomer growth max level is 99 about 12000 hp Also halves all ailments and ATB+1
A SAB AND SYN would be nice but caius removes the buffs too quick to get any real use out of them
I am currently using the Green Chocobo for my Medic but he only has 1700hp roughly so he gets destroyed. I'm really not trying to farm pets for hours, that is beyond boring to me. It's probably my least favorite part of the game.
Twilight odin - Vile peaks 10AF & 200AF
Silver Chocobo - Academia 4XX AF - Throw mog onto platform beneth the holographic projection of cocoon (he's also the best in the chocobo races, has amazing stamina)
If you collect all the fragments for all versions of yaschas massif (can only be done after unlocking Bresha ruins 100AF) you get an ability called Encounter Master.
Allows you to increase or decrese your enemy encounter rate.
Collect all fragments for Bresha and yaschas obtain rollling in CP (double CP)
Farming takes far less time this way
They make Noel's and serah's weaker stats (Magic for noel, Strength for serah) match they're stonger stats.
Although he breaks chain gauges, you can stagger him and keep him that way.
Frankly, compared to XIII combat is so dumb you have to adjust yourself to it. Literally the dumbest strategy is the best. So just use COM/COM/COM to get in stabilising hits, RAV/RAV/RAV to build chain, and MED/MED/SEN to heal.
If you don't want to waste the racing champ silver chocobo for SEN role, a plain old pulsework knight from the steppe will do perfectly. It's more than perfect as a SEN for the story mode, and it's cheap to get and upgrade.
But keep a SAB/SAB/RAV in there for the final form fight. Or don't. It makes only a slight difference, but it can help 5-starring it for the achievement.
That ending was so sad =(
Dunno why but that is most often the answer.
As always been agressive is a good tactic, the shorter the fight, the easier it is.
