Xiao Long Gui Farming ??

I maxed out today the crystarium of all my characters, all level 5 now I need only to unlock one achievement to have 100 %. I know that I have to fight some Xiao Long Gui for a drop to upgrade a lot of stuff, my question is now, ist it effectice to keep farming after the all the drops you need or would you recommend me an other farming place.
First I started farming at the Cie'th Mission 24 but only 6000 per drop is not that much.

what I did was that I went to Eden, killed that one gui outside the building using vanille. I summoned her eidolon staggered downed gui, buffed her and debuffed monster and then spam death. if stagger runs out then retry battle. if he dropped platinum ingot I went to kill 2 groups of soldiers nearby to refill TP and save. if he didnt drop it then reload the game and try again. When I had 3 weapons left to upgrade I sold all my items except those 3 weapons and upgraded them.

Odds are you are doing the treasure hunting quest. Long Gui drop trapezohedrons at a higher rate, you'll need at least six of those. As for everthing else you'll need a lot of money, the fastest way to get money is change the game to easy mode and farm perfume in chapter 13, you can make 80,000 gil by fighting the two sets of sacrifices.

And the Trapezohedrons are not the problem, because I have 3 trapezohedrons and a nirvana near to lvl 100, the problem will be adamantite and the other one that the xiao long gui drops. ^^

It's just long gui.
Also, on easy mode the adamantortoises drop platinum ingots at a 90+ per cent rate on 5-star battles. A lot faster than going for the 25% long gui drop rate on normal. Plus perfume farming at the start of chapter 13 is god-tier in terms of money.

Xiao Long Gui sounds a lot like one of the translations of Shaolong Gui (in U.S. version). Farming them is a good way to get Dark Matter. Once you have the Dark Matter you need, there are better ways to make money.

Ok then first I must get some dark matter and then change the farming strategy.

Traps should be triplicated....

You can get 150,000K gil every 2.5minutes from the eden Adamantoise with save/load. You don't even have to farm TP after beating him with summon. Just kill it the old-fashioned way until you have enough to summon again. (this might be a little faster, since the summon only saves you about 30seconds....running around and killing soldiers takes more than that,

Or don't farm for it just farm for platinum ingots and buy it. Platinum ingots are faster than farming long guis for trapes despite the 2 million buy price, so dark matter is even less of a hassle. Plus shaolong guis are a pain to kill…

A maxed level genji glove dismatled will give you a traps there are 3 genji gloves so thats 3 traps
down. Then you can grind enough money and upgrade the belladona wand (vanille) to the Nirvana (max level) you can then dismantle that for another 3 traps. you won't need any more traps after that since you already got vanilles final weapon and you now have 5 traps for the others. You can save your game BEFORE you dismantle the Genji gloves and Vanille's weapon if you want to keep them. Then talk to bahkti for the achievement and then quit the game without saving.

I farmed the adamantoise in eden with Fang, Lightning and Vanille, with no summons or shrouds. Here's what I did.

Start with Syn Syn Med
Manually put one Bravera or faithra on each character while you do that Lightning will put haste on everyone and any damage taken is easily cured with curaja from vanille. Once I had a damage buff and haste on everyone

Switch to Rav Rav Rav
raise the legs percents to kill range of fangs highwind, no debuffs will be needed, at minimum a stagger.

Switch to Com Syn Med
Use fang's highwind and while you are doing that light will extend your buffs with Boon by placing more buffs on you and Vanille will heal with curaja.

Repeat to kill the other leg

Switch to Rav Sab Sab
start chaining and applying debuffs

Rav Rav Rav
Stagger them to 999.9%

Com Com Com
To finish it off

I was able to kill them in under 2 min everytime and then save and reload. you'd be killing an adamantoise every 4 or so minutes. By far the easiest and fastest way of getting gil.
