it dipends how long it takes to reach 999%, if it's fast np otherwise you need RAV / COM / RAV and obviously Lightning as leader so you can do her final move (i dont know the english name sry) then you can switch fast in COMx3; during the story you can choose the setup you want and in any case like someone already said you can spam death with Vanille but for me it's a coward tactic, for who dont know how to fight (and not a tactic when you must farm)

Just become strong enough to take on it, by interfering with that behemoth that fights with that Megistotherean monster.You will always be able to do a Preemptive Strike.Without the growth egg, it's an easy battle worth of 7600 CP if remember correctly.


Then just go kill the Adamantortoise without the ''Death'' trick.It's a painful way to farm.That is.....IF you kill it and IF it drops something.At least become strong enough to be able to take it out 100% of the time, and leave lady luck to deal for the drops only.Just have 3 ATB to summon everytime, so you can skip the legs.


I have a method of my own on how to deal with it.If you could show me how powerful your characters are, i might be able to help you.

You don't need to fully stagger the legs just get it to 300% for weaker Adamantortoise and 500% for stronger Adamantoise then Highwind them. I can kill one in about 3 minutes without Death. 45 seconds if Death sticks early.

Vanilles ''Death'' move doesn't need practice.Who the hell would try to practice with a skill, that's based 100% of the time around luck?.You do not need practice for that.Just a ♥♥♥♥ load of luck.Enjoy the suffering if he doesn't come down fast enough or not at all.Your prob not mine.

Adamantortoise farming is not based around summons or death. It's the usual stagger/highwind/stagger/highwind/stagger/debuff/bash chain with a lot of SEN×3 sprinkled in there.

If i was to compare to what i have now, and what i had in the video in my previous comment, i would say that, i was nowhere near where i'am today.There was a lot of room for upgrades back then.I took that thing down in less than 3 mins.Does it work?Yes.Easy as that.If i try it right now, i will kill it in a min.

Going toe to toe with them is reserved for high leveled characters. Highwind is THE way to kill the legs. IIRC, with his legs gone he can't stomp anymore.

Equip a Gaian rings on all 3 Characters (upgrade Clay rings) as this will give you 40% Protection from Toise Attacks, Just be ready to switch into 3x SEN when the words "ROAR" appear on screen or you see it move its legs . Having Tetradic Tiara's or Shield Talisman (upgrade from Guardian Amulet) as auto protect nullifies some damage will also help

Used to grind those guys like nuts on xbox.

Either spam Vanille's Death or have Fang as party leader and go for a triple rav attack until stagger. After the first hit get out a paradigm with at least 2 medics to heal and use fang's ult to lay down the damage. It can take some time but you will kill him. Make sure you have a moderately powerful team though, definitely post-ending

there are various options to take one down, dependent on your equipment. If you are going after the one on cocoon, use either sazh or vanille, summon to knock it down, debuff it while you have your eidolon with you, let it run out, then buff the party, chain it up to about 850-900 then use sazh (3 commandos) with maxed out hayades magnums(low tp weapon) and dual blitz, atb refresh as you can and you can take it down, for vanille just summon for the knock down, then debuff it as much as possible, then spam instant death, should hit eventually :)
