FINAL FANTASY XIII

How long do you take to kill barthandelus 2? (non-level grinder)
I barely made it,

I died like 6 times and spent 3 hours to experiment on paradigm before finally killing it. I only able to killed it because it did not cast doom on my team leader(used vanile as team leader).

Its so frustating when he casted doom, its like 100% over.

wow he casts doom on the team leader? I'm only on chapter 10 so far; not going to look forward to this boss O_O. Hope I made the right choice sticking with just lightning, sazh and vanille....

Don't worry, you can change teammates eventhough you never used them before, all the crystallium still accumulated for each char.

Patience is the key.
If you repair Vanilles robot and took 10000 steps on pukse, you get a lot of stuff that you can sell. Then use the money to upgrade the weapons. With upgraded weapons he is easy.

I haven't upgrade my weapons except only for lightning (gladius lvl24) up until chap 12 and still can manage.

I'm afraid if i upgrade wrongly i wont be able to beat the final boss, i prefer to upgrade it before the final boss.

The final boss isn't really something you need upgraded weapons for. All you need is the SAB and SYN enhancing weapons on tier 2 to make it easier, but it's more about good tactics than a dps contest.
Lightning (leader) - Fang - Hope, the best setup in this game

And you need to mention you need at least 6k of life or 8k to kill the final boss, otherwise you will die easy.

Good to hear that weapons is not the crucial thing for the final boss.

But 8k health is a bit too much, do i need to grind more??

Not even close. There are better team compositions for most of the game, and even when that team composition is best Fang or Hope is usually the better leader.

Again, not even close. Speedrunners routinely beat the game with less than 4k HP. I do think having 4000-5000 HP is a good idea, but it's not necessary.
The only place where I really found the Fang/Lightning/Hope setup really convenient was the last boss fight. But I'm about 75% sure that it's not the best setup for it, probably not even in the top 3. But it was the easiest for me to work in the last phase to get the 5-star rating. Strangely enough I never used that trio before or after again, my initial party was just the three girls, then Fang/Sazh/Vanille for most of ch11-13 in the next play through.

say what you want but that is the best cause it is the most versatile party, they have the basic skills for every role and the other members are only "super specialist", snow as sentinel for example
It's the most basic and easiest party when you want something that is adequate at everything but excels at almost nothing. Wouldn't really call it best. I'm pretty sure my also not exactly best Fang/Sazh/Vanille combination could finish all encounters easier and faster than a Lightning/Fang/Hope trio.

try the hardest mission like the 64th :)
Yeah, I would rather have Vanille/Sazh/Fang than Light/Fang/Hope for mission 64. Two Poison casters > one Poison caster.

Being the most versatile party isn't worth a lot in a game where you can freely rearrange your battle team for each encounter and where all members develop at the same rate regardless of how much you use them in combat. Furthermore, even if one was determined to stick with one party all of the time, the Sazh/Fang/Vanille party is superior to the Light/Fang/Hope party for that purpose. That's the reason why those are the three characters used in the any% speedrun.

Heck, I can make a strong argument that the Sazh/Vanille/Snow party is superior to the Light/Fang/Hope party. I have a SYN that gets the better buffs earlier, a SAB that gets the better debuffs earlier, three RAVs, two COMs, a SEN, and a MED vs. a SYN and SAB that develop more slowly, only two RAVs, two COMs, a SEN, and two MEDs. Even if we ignore the SYN and SAB discrepancies, the third RAV is generally superior to the second MED.

We are not talking about speedruns,if the player is finishing the game for the first time it is more better if it has 6k of life,I tried to kill a lot of enemies on Orphan's Cradle to upgrade my life to at least 6k.
Also I don't like Fang/Lightning/Hope,Hope dies a lot so you need to constantly switch to a medic formation.
From Barthandelus first battle to the end of the game I always used Lightning/Sazh/Vanille.

FFXIII need to have a multiplayer version where we can do PVP, it looks interesting with so many combinations.
