Don't worry, you can change teammates eventhough you never used them before, all the crystallium still accumulated for each char.
Patience is the key.
I haven't upgrade my weapons except only for lightning (gladius lvl24) up until chap 12 and still can manage.
I'm afraid if i upgrade wrongly i wont be able to beat the final boss, i prefer to upgrade it before the final boss.
And you need to mention you need at least 6k of life or 8k to kill the final boss, otherwise you will die easy.
But 8k health is a bit too much, do i need to grind more??
Again, not even close. Speedrunners routinely beat the game with less than 4k HP. I do think having 4000-5000 HP is a good idea, but it's not necessary.
say what you want but that is the best cause it is the most versatile party, they have the basic skills for every role and the other members are only "super specialist", snow as sentinel for example
try the hardest mission like the 64th :)
Being the most versatile party isn't worth a lot in a game where you can freely rearrange your battle team for each encounter and where all members develop at the same rate regardless of how much you use them in combat. Furthermore, even if one was determined to stick with one party all of the time, the Sazh/Fang/Vanille party is superior to the Light/Fang/Hope party for that purpose. That's the reason why those are the three characters used in the any% speedrun.
Heck, I can make a strong argument that the Sazh/Vanille/Snow party is superior to the Light/Fang/Hope party. I have a SYN that gets the better buffs earlier, a SAB that gets the better debuffs earlier, three RAVs, two COMs, a SEN, and a MED vs. a SYN and SAB that develop more slowly, only two RAVs, two COMs, a SEN, and two MEDs. Even if we ignore the SYN and SAB discrepancies, the third RAV is generally superior to the second MED.
Also I don't like Fang/Lightning/Hope,Hope dies a lot so you need to constantly switch to a medic formation.
From Barthandelus first battle to the end of the game I always used Lightning/Sazh/Vanille.
