I also recommend "Growth Egg" which doubles your CP and can be won in mission 55.
There are also threee catalogues which improve your chances to get items (normal, rare and shroud items). It's always good to find a spot to put these.
Apart from that many people suggest getting simple "+ Attack" / "+ Magic" items, especially the nice "+300 attack" Kaiser Knuckles and "+300 magic" Magical Crests late-game. Against the bigger bosses, these items boost your damage output significantly (!).
(I also loved Sprint Shoes which give Haste at the beginning of fights. You can get them from dismantling a fully upgraded Tetradic Tiara. I know what you mean about the effect wearing off but the speed boost is great for your first paradigm.)
And Ribbon? Otherwise can anyone tell me whether Fast Recovery is worth bothering with?
All other is optional.
Ribbon is nowhere as powerful as it was in other titles, it's better to use the specialised accessories when you go against an enemy that can use some nasty status attack. But you can keep the damage reduction ones too, or the stat boosts.
EDIT: Okay, I'm an idiot, forgot the Sprint Shoes. Those are essential. That one-minute auto-Haste can win almost any non-boss battles. And lots of boss battles too.
Don't they last only a min? and only apply once per battle? It would make sense to use 300+ accesories and use SYN to apply the buff would give greater power and magic than losing out the equipment to auto-item
If you want to farm oretoises (oretoisi?), you need more specific loadout anyway, not some flat stat boost.
