How do I take fortisol?
When I find it in the menu of items, no key I hit seems to consume it.

Press "Tab" when u play with Keyboard^^ (outside of the Menu)

You use it outside of the menu. If you are using a gamepad, it would be LB and select the item to use.

dont be greedy with them, they are in very very limited supply, hit tab or LB when you looking at your character on the map and not in battle

I usually sell them for gil so I can buy accessories. Don't know if that's a good idea or not.

It sounds like a good idea to save them for boss battles in which I die at least once. In this case, Snow alone is battling a boss named Orion. He starts the fight with the Shiva ladies, and when they leave, Orion is still at about half health, and Snow -- in my several tries -- hasn't been sufficient to finish him off. Taking potions is like taking one step forward and two steps back; they don't keep up with the damage Orion is doing. I figured that Fortisol certainly wouldn't hurt, if only I could figure out how to use it.

Not true if you took the time to farm them in chapter 2. I always spend time and farm them until I have 50 or so.

Shrouds + growth egg = casual
without = hardcore
:))

Wow, I tried the battle again and equipped a Doctor's Code. It made all the difference!

A very bad idea. Especially if you want to do the missions before the endgame, when you still can't buy shrouds. Accessories will be easy to come by.

Ah.
I have like 3 of each left, and Snow just left my party in Chapter 3.
Am I screwed (aka do I need to start from a much older save?), or am I fine?
talgaby Oct 19, 2014 @ 9:53am
You are fine as long as you postpone the optional Cie'th missions until you beat the game. They are easier that way, although they also offer a bunch of rewards that make the final chapter a lot easier. Still, not doing any optional stuff will not screw you over in the main storyline, and to my knowledge a lot of people like to postpone the stone missions after they have access to all role levels.

Well no, you're not screwed, it's just you may not be able to do (for example) some Cie'th Stone Missions earlier than you would be able to do normally. Nothing in the game requires any -sols, they just make life easier or allow you to do certain things earlier than you normally would be capable of, for an advantage.

Ah, thanks.
Might as well save the tough battles for later, when my party is maxed out and have no one else left to fight.
