Why Emhyr var Emreis wanted to kill Geralt? ( in the past )

Geralt says it when yennefer tells him that the Emperor awaits him.
I cant seem to find answer anywhere :(

afair in the books he sought to control Ciri (he was her farther I think) for some magic blood stuff. But then he dropped the idea (in the books) which he told Geralt during their confrontation.

Its more then about Ciri. Geralt help the emperor once upon a time in deling with a curse. Emhyr curse was he would turn in a hedgehof thing on a full moon, in other words hed turn into Sonic but Geralt broke that curse.

Emhyr has always considered GEralt a friend but that doesnt stop him from trying to kill him when he stumble onto one of his conspiracies?

For example remember the nilfgard ambassador from Witcher 2? If you tried to save triss in the 3rd Act That ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ would be killed by his own bodyguard when Geralt took him hostage not because He knew too much. It was because the emperor knew what he did to Geralt and that pissed him off.

But I still dont get the reason. Geralt saved his life + destroyed the curse
So when geralt says that emperor wanted to kill him in the past that means it was during Witcher 2 in the 3rd Act with the ambassador? But lets say I didnt go save triss then when did he try to kill me?

Geralt and the emperor are on bad terms currently due to Ciri. She was given to the witchers to become a witcher as payment for Geralt breaking the curse on the emperor. However soon after the emperor's wife died and he was left all alone with out an heir. In addition to that a profecy stated that the son born from Ciri would take over half the world, and the son born from would take over the whole world. So being the awesome dad he is, he decides to renig the deal with the witchers so that he can father that child with his daughter. Geralt stopped this from happening of course but they pretty much fell apart due to those events. The emperor wants kill Geralt for getting in his way, and Geralt is pretty much no ♥♥♥♥♥ given.

Last time they met in the seventh book. Just after Geralt and his team rescued Ciri and Yennifer from Vilgefortz. Emhyr arrived at the place with a few hundred soldiers so Geralt knew he couldn't stop him from taking Ciri and didn't even try. He and Emhyr then discussed the situation and Geralt said him that they both knew that Geralt and Yennifer would try to take Ciri back at any cost and Emhyr couldn't let them go alive. So Geralt asked him if he and Yennifer could commit suicide in the bathroom and Emhyr allowed them to do so. Emperor said that he would leave several soldiers here, so when Geralt and Yennifer would be ready they can ask soldiers to bring them the knife. But when the time came and they called the soldiers noone entered the room. They were really surprised, but then Ciri came and told that there is noone in the castle except them. She then explained that she cried when she and Emhyr were leaving the castle and then he came closer, hugged her and said "Goodbye, daughter" and left the place with all the troops.
