see thats the thing, its not in everything he says. im on the crones mission, and he sounds completly diffrent then he goes back to sounding normal

They may have changed some volume levels during patches. I think the narrator sounds a bit louder while I am at the loading screen, I could barely hear him before. So they may have tweaked the Bass or Treble levels or made voices louder at certain points...who knows?

Yes, VERY noticeable on the crones mission, and there was another one recently. The voice cuts to a much cleaner, much clearer (less gruff/scratchy) sound and I immediately thought that they must have been adding in those "cool" sound effects over Geralt's voice... But I've never heard him in an interview so I don't know what his "normal" voice sounds like.

But, yes, it's glaringly obvious in a couple of places that something is different all of a sudden when certain cutscenes start. His voice loses a lot of the bass and roughness all of a sudden. It doesn't cut out or in, just between lines and usually when going from one camera angle to another. Not sure what's up with that, but I noticed it a few days ago.

A little bit, from time to time, when it does that...yes. I agree.

Not unless we're BOTH going crazy..which is a distinct possibility. :-)

I noticed "something" was different toward the end of the game - just one instance - I think during Bald Mountain, and Geralt and Ciri are talking while going to the "festival". His voice sound less the usual gruff, older man. I even thought it was a different actor - but voice actors are very good at changing the tone and timber, even the cadence of their speech.

He talks different than he does in TW2. Someone at CDPR is really enamoured with American westerns and rugged individualism.
