Quest: Blood Ties (possible spoilers for sidequest)

Nilfgaardian camp in SE of Velen map.

Old lady coming to find her hero son but noone wants to say what happened to him.

This quest really brought home the reality of war eh?

When i read that letter, felt really bad for the guy not so much the mother who outright calls you a liar.

Yes and received my 50 crowns. Not much of a reward for finding her only son.
Was actually one of the better moments from the many side quests, i just wonder how many actually do that quest since its way down there.

Is it just me? or does something seem... Off? The Quartermaster claims that they didn't see any red haired deserter when they hung the ones they caught but Geralt finds him hanging and an unsent letter next to him. Closer look at the corpse shows that he does have red hair but he looks a little old to be the Son. Only there's nothing more to go on. Unless of course the Quartermaster wasn't aware of more getting caught and hung without his knowledge.
