Let me ask you a question. One of the rules in Witcher games sounds: If you can speak with a troll-do it!

Now I'm wondering is there any other way to finish Monster Slayer quest beside killing the old fellow?

The one in Kaer Morhen? That's not a friendly troll afaik, can only kill it

there doesnt seem to be a way as when you spot it, it immediately turns hostile, would be fun to actually talk to it as you can with others... then again maybe I missed something :)

I killed him, but I did another troll quest recently with the missing miners and if you don't attack him for like 10 seconds and run away he turns friendly

turns friendly? never happend for me... I stood just out of reach by the mouth of the cave, still was red... is that a bug?

That was for a different quest in Skelige haven't tried it on the one at Kaer Morhen

After investigating like 20 dead drowners I was hoping for a little more than what was given to us

I stumbled into the cave, killed said monster and read the letter but now the quest is stuck as incomplete? It wants me to use my witcher senses to investigate. I'm pretty sure I found all the drowners. There is one red outlined one I looked at and it said something about not being an ordinary monster. Now its still red and I cannot interact with it. I'm guessing its bugged but is there a particular drowner one must look at to get this first step in the quest to check off?
