why don't all merchants you've visited show on the map?
i have to look for them all over again. Like the blacksmith outside Novograd's walls, the one who sells Greater runestones, i don't remember where he's at. C'mon.

They only show when (in the game world) there open. If the store is closed for the night you want see it on the mini-map so. Try mediting to see if it a piers on the map.

This is not correct. It's not related to when they're open but rather where you are in relation to where the shopkeeper is.

It sucks. I hate alt-tabbing out to look up where the nearest blackmith is.

Once you discover them them should be permanently embedded on your map.

This is a joke.

the only landmarks that remain on the map are fast travel markers, but it still won't do.

Seriously kinda shocked that this has not been fixed yet.

This is a terrible 'feature' if it's indeed intended.

I do find this annoying as well. Same with the barbers. I agree that once you discover them, they should always appear both on the minimap and on the world map. This is how both previous games worked.

It is and it is.

what i don't understand is why are some of the landmarks shown? but most are not. For instance an Alchemist, i see some on the map, but why not a merchant? or a barber? is it meant to give you a difficult time getting a shave?

also really hard to find the quest closest to you... but yeah the actually map markers for most merchants dissappearing is pretty lamesauce.
