Without a trace (spoilers) DO NOT RUSH THIS QUEST

SPOILERS. I found a secret area.
Even youtube walkthroughs have missed this hidden secret :P

Don't rush the quest without a trace, look at the town, it's empty no people around.
Look behined the house of the "innocent" people, look at the crappy meat she is chopping, go around the back of a house to a secret area, AARD the crates and when you go down there you will be reminded of a scene from films like the book of eli and the cannabalistic couple that 'helps' him, or even the crones of crookback bog in the main story line in this game... it's very horrific.

They spewed excuses about how they only take the dead but there is a cage in there, why would you have a cage to keep dead people in? there is further proof in a house that they kill living people too with the blood stained hand on the wall. It's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ made up lie they are murderers. Also, if you don't take pity you can get in the house with a key, there is another mysterious room in there that looks caged up and I haven't found a way into it yet.

My point is finally this, has any one found a way to get through the second locked door inside that particular house?

Aside from that, I searched the area and couldn't find any wolves. I only found hags and endregas. I let them go because my job isn't the harbinger of justice both great and small. Also, I am curious about their reactions will be when I return.

I killed them because they are monsters that killed people. Witchers kill monsters that threaten humans

If you jump on the crates and shelves in the main room of the house of the cannibal couple you can look into the room from the top. And there is nothing there... There is some crudely shaped grass and dirt in the room that makes me think there is no way in the room at all, like it doesnt look good enough to be a playable area. :( I was hoping for some extra tidbit of info or condeming evidence lol, but unless the room 'loads' when you use a key, nothing in there.

I think if one was to rush this quest and run quickly back to the herbalist then they must be mentally challenged. Was obvious that something was going on which is why i wandered about using my witcher senses.

Yeah, like we were supposed to believe they wouldn't do it again. Especially when all the evidence said they had been doing it for so long and planned so merticulously.

I regretted letting them go. Came back later and they are still cutting the same pile of meat and sounding reallll creepy.

I actually went back and turned it in, but I was positive Geralt was going to mention how weird the couple was to the herbalist and the quest would move from there. So after I saw it didn't I loaded back and found this post lol.

The old peasant man dropped a key which unlocked the door to their hut... but there's another locked door inside, as well as another hut in the village with a locked door. Does anyone know how to open either of these?

The locked room in their house is empty. Since the walls for that room don't reach up to the ceiling, you can look inside if you simply climb on the tables near the walls. I suppose the house is simply meant to make you second-guess your choice of killing them since there's absolutely nothing out of the ordinary in it. I trust it's intentionally meant to look like any normal home instead of the den of deranged cannibals.

Absolutely. I killed them too. Monsters can in the form of humans too. The first ever cinematic trailer for the game pointed this out. Damn I loved that trailer.
