a bug with a scavenger hunt quest?
I'm on "Scavenger Hunt - Cat School Gear Upgrade Diagrams - Part 4" where I am to look for several items with my witcher senses. I've done many scavenger hunts, no big deal.

Only one problem. There's no indication of where in the wide world to go to begin looking. All that I get is the yellow pulsing target appearing on the map at whatever marker is nearest to me. This normally indicates that I am not where I should be for a quest and should fast travel to another location. In that case the map will have a yellow circle somewhere in the world showing where I should go and if the map isn't showing it, an arrow at the edge of the map showing where to pan the map to see it.

No so now. No yellow circle anywhere, no arrows at the edge of the map to guide me, nothing but the pulsing yellow target on the map on the marker where I have just arrived. Whatever marker I travel to, the yellow target follows me there. Any ideas?

The Mastercrafted Cat School Gear are all located in Skellige. So if you're anywhere else, say in Velen or Novigrad, the waypoint marker will usually be to the nearest sign post so that you can fast travel to the world map and then go to Skellige and find the correct nearest sign post to your destination.
Alas, a good idea but no joy. I fast traveled to Skellege and it's the same story - the target is on the signpost that I arrived at in Skellige with no way to know where to go...

Both my first and second (NG+) playthroughs of GOG GOTY 1.31 were plagued with broken Witcher Gear quests. I was so fed up with looking at those broken quests on my “to do” list of quests that I used console commands to complete the quests. Hopefully my hours upon hours of frustration and research into the correct console commands will help someone to complete these quests. I give no guarantees that they will work. All I can say is the following console (tilde ~) commands worked for me.

You have the ones from the viper school? Cause i used a mod to new game + after blood and wine expansion, and now i'm stucked with all of those already gotten missions from treasure witcher hunts. Viper ones like that level 6 from white orchard for example.

Both my first and second (NG+) playthroughs of GOG GOTY 1.31 were plagued with broken Witcher Gear quests. I was so fed up with looking at those broken quests on my “to do” list of quests that I used console commands to complete the quests. Hopefully my hours upon hours of frustration and research into the correct console commands will help someone to complete these quests. I give no guarantees that they will work. Just a thought, and it might seem daft but...

The Cat School hunt defaults to the objective: 'Find all elemants of the cat school gear' and doesn't show them all, if I recall correctly. With some of these and Griffin, you need to open your quest log and select one of the objectives, such as 'Find the pants diagram', 'Find the steel sword diagram', etc.

I've had this with a few quests and think this may be going on here.

If it's not that, just ignore me, call me an idiot, or whatever takes your fancy!
