He'd just end up tripping over himself (and that's very bad when your fighting monsters).
Of course it didn't hamper his movement, he took it off before fighting them. =D
That mod is awesome dude you are only editing lines of text nothing can go wrong with your game just follow the instructions and if you want can always backup the text files you are editing/saves. And the customisation, capes especially (plus the HUGE amount of editing other than clothing you can do to your character) really complement his armour.

The only problem is the clipping with the swords but it really isn't so bad unless viewed from the side, only the hilt's show usually.

These capes ALMOST touch the ground, these make you look like a true badass. The cape you're using, you can see Geralt's boots.
Ya especially when you show up in novigrad where it seems a cloak or hood would be of use in order to stay under the radar
