Got the bad ending... [SPOILER]
As title says, I got the BAD ending and it really sucks...

Ciri dies and Geralt goes on one last suicide mission to retrieve her lost medallion in the bog to console himself. It's so tragic how the camera pans away at the end. I really shouldn't have accepted Nilfgaards money for bringing Ciri back but couldn't resist the coin...

I want to go back and make the right choices for the good ending but I'd have to do so much backtracking... Such is the struggle when playing an RPG fraught with impactful choices sadly...

I got the good ending on my first - and only - full playthrough.

You missed quests, key dialogue choices or just picked the wrong answers.

Yeah the choices leading to the endings are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, probably the one thing I was heavily disappointed with in the end.

Effectively you're punished for making choices that encourage your spawn to be more cautious and responsible, instead of reckless and impulsive. Not sure what CDPR was thinking here, especially given Ciri's history when it comes to reckless impulsive decisions and how it would make a lot more sense for Geralt to try to be protective of her.

that's part of the replay-ability of the game, you got the bad ending, and you wanna see the good.

Just a clarification: Geralt doesn't really die if you get the bad ending: the final scene is just a classic, dramatic cliffhanger, Blood and Wine made it clear that the canon is that Geralt survives, though emotionally scarred. Well, actually the canon is that Ciri survives, too, and becomes a witcher, but in case one makes the wrong choices...
There are a lot choices with no game impact. Just with the ending.
like:
- if you play snowball with her or not.
- if you destroy avalachs laboratory or not.
- if you go with her to the witch-meeting in the rosemary and thyme, or let her go alone.
- if you take the money from her father or not.

Myself dont really need to do that much backtracking, because i make eversthing else first, and the main story later.

Nilfgardian coin is not the only reason she dies (did she die though?) as somebody already pointed out multiple other points.

Basically you were a bad father figure to her so it is very possible that when she did what she had to do she decided that there is nothing holding her there so she opened a tear to some other universe. Who knows, maybe she finds more attractive some city in the sky or underwater, some station in space or neon lights of the Night City.

Did all the right decisions on my first game. Trololol

I mean the Red Baron is there to show booze is bad and you chose to drink booze with Ciri?

I do the bad ending on purpose every time now. Got the middle one on my first play. Never done the good one because I got spoiled of what it is and I hate it. Never cared for Ciri anyway and I love drama, so bad ending is fine by me. Some stories are better when they end badly.
