Slow horse riding?
Is there a way to toggle walking speed on the horse?

Default for walking seems to be CTRL, works when dismounted, but once you're on the horse it just goes straight into a trot. Is this intended?

Yeah, I know. Wasn't asking about sprinting but slow walking :)

I just had siri lose the race to the barron because I thought just pushing shift was run but I knew it was off because I lost. Thank you for this. It was helpful to me. :controllerThumbsUp:

Arrows keys: horse trot
Shift key: canter
Double-tap shift: gallop

If the trot is too fast, then nothing can help that bar modes.

Roach is a very well trained horse. You might have noticed how you pass other riders on the roads. Those are normal untrained horses while Roach is doing The Walk.
In America there is a breed called the Tennessee Walker that does that. That Walk eats up the miles while not tiring the horse and delivers a nice smooth ride.
Apparently it was known in Europe some time ago.

Lol just had to say it; Xbox controller does it by just pressing the left joystick up (walking and steering) press 'A' is trot, double tap 'A' and hold is full pelt with stamina bar.
For Geralt; slowly moving the left joystick up, varies Geralt's walking speed. Whilst holding 'A' has him running falt out.

Also, when on horse and on a path, holding 'A' (works whether he's full pelt galloping/trotting ) Roach will naturally follow the path without you having to 'steer' him. Obviously if the path splits he will go the most obvious way and you will have to intervene to steer him back on course that you want him to follow, you can do this by still holding 'A' and just correcting him. Letting go the joystick (or Key) for steering him will result in hime going back on 'auto-pilot' -for want of a better word.
