No Minimap or Health Bar

Just recently started playing and a couple hours in my minimap and health bar disappeared. I initially thought it was just those two things that weren't showing, but then I realized that there are no interaction indicators over NPCs or creatures/monsters and when there are updates about a quest or I complete it nothing shows up on my screen. I've checked my settings and it shows that my minimap and everything are on. Anyone have any suggestions about this bug??

turn it off and on again? weird, might have to make a backup of the save and redownload the game if it comes down to it

I've turned it on and off a couple times and no change. I was hoping to not have to uninstall and redownload :( dang it

There is a key that hides interface to take screenshots, maybe you pressed it?

you pressed home button it seems it hides hud press it again to show hud

This is going to sound so dumb, but what's the home button? I'm playing with keyboard, not controller.

Look at your arrow keys (should be to the right of the rightmost ctrl button). Now go up from your arrow keys and you should see a two rows of three buttons laid out as such:

Insert Home [Page Up]
Delete End [Page Down]

Also, it's never dumb to ask questions. And if someone claims you're dumb for simply asking a question, that person has only proved that he's dumb.

Thank you all so much!! Hitting the home key fixed it and now I'll know for the next time I accidentally hit it lol I really appreciate all the help from everyone!! :)

I know this is an ancient thread but I just found it as I have the same problem.
No mini map. no health bar, everything as described above, even the fast travel markers do not say "fast travel" and when manual saving "game saved" is not displayed on the screen. I am going back into the game and will try pressing the home key.

UPDATE: Home key was the problem. Sorted thanks to this thread.
It started while playing the roll of Ciri running through hordes of guards with Dandelion, down stairs, up stairs, running like a chicken without a head as there was no mini map shown to guide me in the right direction.

I did this once in another game and a friend told me what I did, and it worked, and then I promptly forgot and did it in the witcher recently and was like ♥♥♥♥ the game broke. Thanks to this thread via google I found a way to fix it! and the home button totally worked! hopefully I won't forget again XD

Well this is a little inconvenient considering I open my steam overlay with the home key. On top of that I cant even edit the hotkey.

remap the hud key for something else and then press it and voila its back. had this problem some time ago.
