Nope, but you will be almost completely lost watching the series without any prior exposure to the material. In fact, I'd argue the games only help if you actually paid attention to the details, it's really the books that will ground you. In any event, no series won't spoil you for The Witcher 3.

Thank you for your reply :)

Play the game. The TV show is garbage despite the actor doing a good job being Geralt; the rest is spoiled by the showrunner's and producers' WOKE politics and their racist and sexist vision of how the Witcher's world should be, even deviating from the books.

The TV show is bombing on Metacritic. https://www.metacritic.com/tv/the-witcher/season-1?ref=hp
Oh wow i guess it's not worth watching then

Not really I was excited to watch it when they were first talking about it and then after seeing the 1st one that was enough for me.

The game, especially with mods, is outstanding!
Sure, the fact that there's so many black people for instance is a little weird especially coming from the games, but it is a fantasy world after all, albeit written by a Polish man. Other than a few minor weird things like that and the occasional bad writing, the show is pretty great I think.

Your complaint is a minor nitpick at best, and a show can still be good while having a few problems. You don't have to make it so black and white.

Me and my wife both said the exact same thing! haha

Just understand that the tv series is basically [bad] fan fiction. They say they're following the books but they're really not. A number of events aren't really what happens in the books, and a number of characters don't look or are not portrayed even remotely like they're described in the books and games, so I'd say if you watch the show...just know that it's a very loose interpretation of the real Witcher series. The books and then the games are the real story and characters, not the retconned [and race-swapped] garbage that Netflix is churning out.

I think the show was a 6/10, which is much better than I'd gone into it expecting. So I'm not disappointed. To pick out a particular positive, I found Geralt's fight scenes to be incredibly entertaining. As a particular negative, Triss' casting was... I don't actually have to vocabulary to describe how awful it was.

EDIT: Gave it a rewatch, particular paying attention to the smaller things this go round. I think 7.5 is more fair.

If you want a real introduction to the Witcher universe and doesn't want to read the books, I strongly recommend watching Polish Witcher series from early 2000s with Michał Żebrowski. I'm sure you can find it subbed somewhere. For the time and the budget they had to work with, it's quite impressive, there's even a dragon.

From what I've seen, a 7/10 so far.

Not Game of Thrones or Vikings quality.

Agreed. Fully. The show is great. So were the books and games. There is enough room in this world for all three to be true.
