I know this. Im asking other way because this method isn't possible anymore.
damn, there's so many mods out there and not a single noclip mod. Guess CD Project RED took it way to literally when they meant Teleport/Noclip can break quests and thus may hardcoded it to be impossible.
Have you tried to go through the door to the left of where the Kaer Trolde blacksmith stands (there's normally a guard standing next to it). That's where you go with Cerys if you opt to side with her in the "King's Gambit" quest. Maybe it's not locked.
Or perhaps Cerys unlocks it for Geralt...I don't know because I always go with Cerys.
Even if you do get in, you may not find the place of power...I remember being desperate to see what was in the Dark Brotherhood sanctuary at Dawnstar in Skyrim, which you only got into if you joined the Dark Brotherhood. Toggling clipping off got me in but there was only a void because it wasn't loaded by the game.
In the end, one place of power isn't going to make the difference between smashing your enemies and dying, though...you'll do fine without it, if that's any consolation.
You've piqued my curiosity though...I'm going to load a save before that quest and bust a gut to get into the place!
R7, they may have meant that but I wish they hadn't. on numerous occasions my Geralt gets stuck in a bog-hole in Velen, or behind some barrels and can't get out!..
...that's why Bethesda allowed no clipping in the debug console for Skyrim.
Yeah have been stuck several times myself in some swamp holes where Geralt doesn't climb at all and the earliest save was 30 min old. I was salty af then.
Im very far ahead in the game 200h or so, not going to bother. I can imagine to play HoS or WaB second time but not the main story.
Buzzardbee told me about the addkeys console command that adds one of each key in the game. I tried this since I know it gave at least one chest key that doesn't seem to be available to the player in the game...
...that didn't work either. The doors couldn't be opened. I tried to get over the mountain behind Kaer Trolde with no joy either.
I've yet to try a save from after the king's gambit after siding with Hjalmar, because I never play it that way. From what others here are saying I don't hold out much hope.
Maybe the devs did this deliberately. They certainly appear to encourage the player to go with Cerys.
That would be a bit mean, though...side with Cerys or we won't let you get one of the places of power as a punishment!
everything went fine.
