"PoE" abbreviation

This may be a small thing, but I think we should stop referring to Pillars of Eternity as "PoE"

"PoE" to me, is always read as "Path of Exile" being that they have had the honour of this abbreviation for several years now.

So yeah, anything other would be more appropriate.

Pillars?

Pills of E? (okay maybe not)

We already had this problem with DFO.

Even though DFO means Dungeon Fighter Online, which came out MANY years ago and was played by millions (and now after relaunch is again!) there are still many pvp trolls who use it's acronym to describe Darkfall. Even though it's one word and has no online in it's title.

People will call things what they will and you can simply correct them. The superior game will take over eventually. Someday no one will even remember Darkfall. But Dungeon Fighter Online is ETERNAL!

Though if I had to bet on which PoE which will be forgotten shortly, I'd put that money on this one. Path of Exile is going to outlast this for sure.

And thats with me getting rid of around 30-40 entrees... Point is acronyms are used way to often and no one acronym "belongs" to anything and trying to say one use is correct while all other uses are wrong just because you like that one use is pretty ignorant and shallow minded.

You're being kind of ridiculous. 99% of your examples are not even remotely close in a contextual sense to Pillars of Eternity.

Having two current and relatively popular video games with the same acronym IS a problem..

And what's with the venom in your post? "extremely stupid" "ignorant" "shallow minded"??.. there's no need to be such a b!tch. As I stated, this doesn't overly concern me, however I feel there should be differentiation.

I think its funny whenever I say Wow, as in Wow I am excited, people assume I am talking about World of Warcraft. Atleast it isnt that bad with Pillars of Eternity, and people assuming I am speaking of Path of Exile is a given, since it has been around for a while. Best you can do at this point is laugh it off, and then correct their assumptions. 90% of the time it leads to generating interest in that person, and they will go look it up and potentially buy it, well alteast for the people Ive talked to about it.
