Class to start with?
So just wondering what is the best class to start with? I was thinking a wizard, i usually play melee classes but since this game is more tactical i was thinking a wizzard and get warriors for the party so the AI can play them.

Honestly every class is fun and playable. So go with whatever you want.

Since you like Melee, you may want to consider Rogue, Monk or Barbarian. Mainly because none of the companions in the base game are those classes. (Rogue & Monk companions are added in the expansion but takes awhile to get them)

The first two companions you're likely to get are a Fighter and Wizard, if that affects your decision at all. But you can do wildly different builds on characters of the same class. For example I played a fighter who was more dual wield/dps orientated and made the companion fighter a shield using tank. They didn't step on each others toes at all.

You can try a paladin and make an offensive build. Faith and Conviction will help to keep him alive on front lines. Story paladin isn't realy good because her ability is not working. Also paladin has plenty of abilities to increase his and his teams damage. And he is one of the 2 classes that can ressurect.

Also depends on what difficulty you plan on playing; at normal or below, play anything, doesn't matter as much. For hard or up, fighter, barbarian, or paladin are good choices. The boss creatures can hit very hard at the harder difficulty levels, and having a character that can take the hits is important.

Probably also want to roll yourself a rogue too, as a generic party filler character, the NPC one you can get in game is not available until much later.

Chanter can be a fun starter too. Once you get the basics of how they work, they are an easy class to work with with low micromanagement outside physical combat.

Paladin... There can be only one!

Honestly, I'm on my first run and everyone says roll whatever you'd like. Play it on easy and enjoy your class.

Druids were buffed since 2.0 patch.
Now it's just a killing machine.
But i want to start Paladin too. Damn, i'll never make through this game....

My favorite classes are presently Monk and Wizard easily.

But if you want to experience all the classes and are not going to create generic adventurers... Note that up until this point the only class that does not have a default companion is Barbarian.

Female Barbarian snoo snoo companion when? I need me some Amazonian.

You will have to play up to six classes anyway, since AI is not reliable.

A soldier and a wizard are the first 2 companions you will encounter, followed by a priest and an enchanter.

If you wanna stick with storybased companions, you will find anything but a barbarian up to this point with white march included(there you will find a monk and a rogue).
