Okay is anyone else having issues beating [REDACTED] of Cragholdt?
Or however it's spelled the stronghold getting attacked by mercenaries that gets introduced in The White March. Of course i mean Concelhaut because he's a spell spamming Lich with 100's across all defenses and completely immune to Ice and Fire damage far as I can tell on top of being surrounded by Alghuls and Ancient Dead Knights, whom are WAY stronger than their bestiary entry would suggest.

I'm running PC(Fighter "tank" Wild Orlan), NPC Priest/Wizard/Chanter/Druid/Cipher(sorry it's late and I cant' remember everyone's names, the story ones). Also only at level 12, apparently 14 is when you're supposed to fight him...

my ass is being kicked by Cragoldt. Think this is the hardest fight in the game.

I think I wil wait for the 2nd part in order to level up more.

It's a level 14 area with level 15 enemies and NPCs with higher stats and more abilities and talents than actually possible in the normal function of the game. Obsidian outright cheated when they made it.

My guys are level 10. I just beat The Sky Dragon, then when to take a look at the new area. Beat the first 2 which were tough, but had several goes at the next bunch.

Even if I can lure just 2 to fight, that Drunken Orlan can defeat my entire party. He takes Eder down in no time, something the Adra Dragon doesn't even do.

Is the level cap not now 12, and do I have to get higher to survive. Seems ridiculous in there at L10.

I've done the whole game on Path of The Damned no knockdown several times, but this is silly.

Craigholdt is FULL of level 14 enemies(or enemies boosted to level 14) and not only that all the NPC enemies(not the monsters) have stats WAY higher than possible and nearly twice as many talents and abilities compared to the character you can make. Obsidian outright CHEATS when it comes to Craigholdt.

For example Ancient Death Guard's are level 15 and have immunity to Fire and Cold damage, have Finger Of Death which does several hundred Raw damage over the course of 2 seconds after 1 second of setup after casting with infinite usage. Their weakest defense is Deflection at 92, everything else is over 100 and their weakest DR is Crush and Corrode. They have just over 350 Endurance and 75 Accuracy.
Compared to THIS Bestiary entry for Death Guards: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=511657130

Downloaded it yesterday. First go today, and already don't like it. I could get my guys to L12 quite quick, but not sure I'm going to bother if that's what it's like. My whole party beaten by just 2, a Drunken Orlan and a Gunner(which I can take out quite quick).

Just crazy, that Orlan has crazy attacks and then turns into 3. Don't seem much point going against more than 2, and I doubt I'll be able to avoid that, so my money was wasted.

I'm L10 PoTD, all my guys have exceptional armour(mostly unique), and have slept in Celestial Suite for bonuses. They got no chance against one Drunk Orlan. Crap.

The NPC enemies in Craigholdt straight up cheat. They have stats higher than possible to get without enchanted items, they have more talents than possible, they have more abilities than possible AND DUPLICATE abilities that STACK. They break EVERY rule we as the player are bound to. I wouldn't be surprised if they had unlimited spellcasting either.

People kept whining about the game too easy. So... have fun.

Then they should have played it on Path of the Damned or self-imposed penalties, the enemies in Craigholdt are NOT affect by it being Path of the Damned difficulty either, they're THIS strong in ALL difficulties.

I really love that there are enemies very hard to defeat even on easy. This is the way games were made back in the day. Love the expansion!

I'd rather it be legitimately hard compared to "Oh we just jacked up all their stats and gave them more talents and abilities".

Me too. I'm fine with Obsidian going the SNK boss route.

So yeah, playing on hard and this battle is beyond brutal. So, I stopped playing clean. Rather than charge in and get slaughtered, or crowd the door with traps and get slaughtered, I used Eder with Boots of +3 movement to gank enemies 1 by one out with the rest of the party much farther back. The melee wander back in the room, and was able to take out all the ranged by running in and out till they stayed.

Eventually, I managed to get Mr. BBEG himself and 1 magus, purely by luck. Even so, 3 characters were down in the end, gray with 1 hp. His buff spells last forever, and his staff regains him health when he hits (edit, because of a spell). His area spells can take out a closely crowded party. Managed to get him to use most of his spells on tons of summoned minions and a heavily buffed Eder (who went down no matter how much healing I threw on him). Eventually a battle of endurance. When his protections finally timed out, regular melee and ranged attacks took him down rather quickly. Force (missile) spells had some effect, but a waste of any direct damage spells on him. After a rest, still tough battles with his death guards, but no more impossible battle.

After seeing his spellbook, no wonder he was a pain.

You mean enemies that break the rules of the game with double stacked talents and more abilities and higher stats than possible?
