whats a fun class to make my first character, preferably ones thats easy, good at social skills and other out of combat skills. but not entirely useless in combat

The respec only allows skill stats and abilities. But the actual attributes can't be changed? Why is that? Frustrating. Want to play Kana much differently and that deflection score is way too low. I get they're supposed to be pre-made and for role-play but I can't use him in the way I want in the party....

Normal is kinda alright but a little easy. Hard is really difficult however. I'm stuck between both. Which one do I choose? And how does changing difficulty work within game? Is it immediate or map/area locked?

Typically i find playing a fighter a bit easier the first time through an RPG for the simple fact then tend to have the easiest time living while knowing nothing. So my main question is, building the characters. Can you really screw them up, or is it intuitive? I don't need to min/max a god or anything, but are there things you can just do wrong with the system they use?
