COMPREHENSIVE LIST OF REBEL GALAXY MODS (Updated 5/7/23)
As of 5/7/23 I've gone through and removed links to mods that are no longer available. If you see a link to your mod has been removed and you have it rehosted somewhere please reply and I will gladly add it back in.

--------------------------------------Start of Original Thread---------------------------------

All the available Rebel Galaxy mods in one place. Before using these you might need to change the dates on the PAK files so that they'll work with patch 1.08 as most of these were made before that patch. A simple program you can use to do this with can be found here:

For those who are tech savvy you can aslo go to the command prompt in windows, navigate to your ...\steamapps\common\RebelGalaxy\PAKS and then type

copy /b DATA2.PAK +,,

Onto the command prompt where DATA2.PAK is the name of the modfile you want to update.

This changes its "made by" date to be the day you write the code, and voila! Old mods work again~ (props to Grey for the tip).

I'll add instructions on how to install the mods at the bottom of this post.

Larger Holds {Stone Cold Jane Austen} (Currently unavailable-will update if/when this mod gets rehosted)
Doubles capacity of all cargo hold modules, leaves base ship cargo capacity untouched.

Certain Militia Bribes {Stone Cold Jane Austen} (Currently unavailable-will update if/when this mod gets rehosted)
When Militia scan you and detect contraband, attempting a bribe now has a 100% chance of success.

Pro Sparrow & Grud {Stone Cold Jane Austen} (Currently unavailable-will update if/when this mod gets rehosted)
Adds pro versions of Sparrow and Grud. This mod also adds a difficulty cap on regular Grud and lowers the difficulty cap on regular Sparrow so they're not available after the pro versions are.

No Ordnance Required (Prometheus):

It is a simple mod that removes the ordnance requirement in secondaries and turret weapons on player-controlled ships.

HOW TO INSTALL MODS:
Download the .PAK file
Copy the .PAK file into your RebelGalaxy\PAKS folder.
Important:
Never overwrite the DATA.PAK in the PAKS folder
The mod .PAK has to be more recent than the DATA.PAK
When using 2 or more mods the more recent .PAK file will always overwrite the older ones. This is important if mods us the same files and/or the same new IDs in the files which will result in crashes.
(thanks to Darphnix for the info)

Rename each successive PAK to a higher number. It should like this-
DATA.PAK
DATA2.ModName.PAk
DATA3.ModName.PAK
etc.

Finally, you need to change the creation date of the mod to the current date. All you do is use a freeware called BulkFilechanger. http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/bulk_file_changer.html
This is because mods made before the last patch won't work unless they were created after it.

There's also a PAK. file test there, Merchant and Mercenary ships available at Rank 1 and 2 (sorry, I missed the TUROTH), maybe some one can fix it LOL.

I use an external harddrive for all my steam games due to low storage on my C: drive. Do I need to re-intsall RG on the main steam file to use this modding style or is it possible to adapt the paths to an F: Drive?

You can install your game on whatever drive you want. Just tell Steam to install RG on the F: drive and you should be good to go. After that I needs to go wher your game keeps the DATA.PAK file.

Done and done, the command prompt to get the directory isn't working as intended. I'm not as tech-savy as expert modders so I'm not sure which DOS command will produce the inteded results to account for the change in location of files

It would be easier to go to http://ultimateoutsider.com/downloads/ and look for the Ultimate Plugin Tool. It creates symlinks to anywherre you want it to. Very useful.

I can't link to tools I've never heard of nor would I link to anything I haven't used enough to know whether or not it's safe for people to use on their systems. That said thank you for pointing it out.

As long as 1. the mods you're using don't alter the same files and 2. older mods have their date changed to a recent date you should be OK.

For example here are the mods I'm running with:
Endless trading
No ordinance consumed
Pro mercs
Certain militia bribes
Detail scanner
Larger holds.
No slaves
Fixed comm chatter volume.
