Help! Can't proceed in story missions

I have played through several of the story missions and have gotten to a point in the game where I no longer am receiving additional story missions. The last story mission I remember playing was finally making it to that system (Charon?) that has no access via a jump gate. I finished there and eventually left the system at the end of the mission. I have since played the game perhaps 5 more hours or so and have received no further story missions.

How do I proceed in the story? Is there something I'm missing? Surely that mission to the non jump gate system is not the last. If so that is severely anti-climactic. Can anyone advise? I'm loving the game.

BTW, I am referring to the first time I visited Charon. I have not given the AI Trell to anyone.

That's it. You're done. The game's ending is very anti-climatic. As much as I loved most of the story the ending was a real let down.

You have to give Trell to the Verilax, then leave Cheron and when the Verilax return you destroy the ship Trell is on and get her back. the end

And therein is the problem. I don't recall giving Trell up and certainly not destroying the Verilax ship to retrieve her again. Is there anyway to find out if I did somehow finish the game and not realized it? Is there a badge that would indicate I finished the game?

I just checked and the achievement for finishing the main campaign is called "Dusted and Done" and I have not achieved it yet. So, I apparently have a game breaking bug here. Any help developers with this will be greatly appreciated!
