they said the campaign will take as little as 20 hours as much as 50
Around 30 to 40 hours. Less if you've played it before and more if you take your time instead of rushing through the story. I'm 100 hours in and not bored yet.

I don't know. I'm 18 hours in and I -think- I'm on the last mission, unless there's some twist to it I haven't seen yet. It's not the most engrossing of stories to be honest, but the game plays well anyway.

Yeah if you stick to the story and are good at these kind of games you'll fly through it. I took my time.

Yeah if you dont mind procedural and chasing world generated events im at 70+ and i haven't completed the main storyline or the faction side stories

More than enough to warrant the price tag IMO. In fact, I think they could have gotten away with selling it at higher price, but I'm happy they didn't:steamhappy:

Heh. I am 15 hours in, and I have just recently left the first solar system. I am REALLY enjoying the game, and taking things slowly. I have spend a lot of time just looking around and flying with no particular purpose. From the past experiences I know that there is never a beter time than the first time. Everything is new and interesting, so I try to savour everything very slowly.

Took me 40 hours to max out on all content (ship, weapons, subsystems)
Each hour was filled with excitement :)

You probably hit like 15 hours to finish the main game. Not much to do after that. Story was pretty bland. Now in a dreadnaught doing sensible chuckles at pirates who can't even finish their insult as 20 Neutron Beams rip across their hull.

But yeah, gameplay's decent.

There's 14 huge systems to explore, I'm still in the first system and I'm currently 11 hours in and only done a few story missions, but I'm enjoying getting sidetracked. There's lots to kill and find as you explore and unlock locations on the map, you'll spend a long time exploring and doing misc errands. The gameplay is brilliant, so you'll probably spend a looooooing time doing stuff outside of the story itself, which so far allows you to progress it at your own pace.

I have 34 hours played and i am still in the third star system, i take all my time.

At 15 hours played, I have not finished the first system (of 14 total). So, quite a lot if you enjoy open-world gameplay and procedurally generated missions.

It would be a lot shorter if you just followed the main storyline, but who does that in open-world games? :)

Yeah, I agree. I only wish there was a way to disable the markers for the main story line... :)

Depends on the player, I will probably get 60-80 hours out of the game because I just love this style of game.
