Flak Turrets Don't Shoot Missiles or Torpedoes!?
Is this a bug or a feature?

Flak Turrets seriously need this ability, otherwise it's just better to pick one of the much better beam turrets.

Also, selecting "Fighters only" for AI behavior should of course also shoot Missiles and Torpedoes. (An additional option to prioritize missiles\torpedoes if present would be great as well.)

Sorry only used flak for broadside missile defense or fighter confusion. Didnt know it came in turret form.

There is a module for shooting down mine and missile.. in those very expensive expensions. Not sure if the process is automated, or just allow you to target Missile and mines to shoot them.

Yah it sends out a burst around your ship that takes out incoming missiles but it's on a cooldown so won't take out every missile salvo.

It's not automated. While not crazy expensive it dose run about as much as an average Mk 3 weapon, and requires you go into aim mode to shoot down missles.

Flak broadsides shoot out slow moveing projectiles that explode. The explosions can catch missles and fighters, but aren't guided or aimed and fast ships tend to outrun them, leaveing the flak far behind.

EMP flak is weird, and dosn't seem to hurt missiles at all.

I'd love a missile defense turret that would shoot them down automaticly, or maybe some kind of flare launcher that lures them into blowing up away from the ship.

Mostly though, I'd love for flak broadsides to at least be able to toggle on rather then needing to hold the button.

Flak boardside will not work well if your ship is moving fast since the flak will explode behind your ship while missile will always veer toward where you are going. So either, jiggle your ship a bit to adjust the flak or get component upgrade that make deflector absorb missile damage and convert it into your shield.

Apparently, you have to shoot every single torpedo down manually. Of course, manual shooting sucks unless you are targeting asteroids cuz they don't move. Come on. Love the game otherwise.

Be nice if they added a new defense modual, like where the flax or torpedos goes, with a automated system like the Phalanx CIWS, they turn and start shooting down small fighters, or missles that comes in too close, even show the tracers of the system firing. Would kickass to see
